HCFA weekend workshops - Ornamental Grasses

Thursday, 13 September 2012 14:41 Written by Alex Morrell

Subject: This workshop focuses on one of the most economically important crops known to mankind - grasses. Without cultivated grass seed (wheat, oat and barley grain) civilisation would probably collapse. But if it is going to collapse we may as well be civilised about it and make room for a few of their ornamental cousins. Whilst they won’t feed the body there are examples of many beautiful ornamental grasses capable of feeding the soul. Join Michelle Cleave from Kew Gardens to learn about the grasses that have taken a back seat

Guest speaker: Michelle Cleave, Head of ornamental beds, Kew Gardens

Date: Saturday, 29th September

Time: 10:30am to 1pm

Venue: Faggs Road allotments, Feltham - (see find us link on our home page)

Cost: £5 entrance fee

We look forward to seeing you there.
